Schnepf Farms is Fun for Children!
(updated August 30th, 2008)
"Children are our number one priority here at Schnepf Farms. We don't ever want them to forget where their food comes from. We are bringing back "Farmer for the Day" and " Grandma's Baking Day" Classes." It's a way for your children to spend a day with a farmer, or in the kitchen with a baker learning how to bake with fresh from the farm fruits and vegetables. We hope you help us continue this tradition." Carrie Schnepf, co-owner
Farmer for the Day Kid's Club!

In honor of "Farmer Bob"
Robert
Biggs
Born May 15th, 1928 - passed away November 18th, 2004
Bob Biggs or "Farmer Bob" as most people knew him, was a 4th generation
Arizonan and proud of the fact that his great grandfather helped settle Lehi
Valley in 1878. Bob Biggs loved visiting Schnepf Farms when his daughter,
Carrie, married Mark Schnepf. In 1999, he started helping with educational
field trips on the farm, and in 2002, Carrie established "Farmer
for the Day." This was an opportunity for children to spend 3 hours with
Farmer Bob and learn the importance of agriculture. By teaching school
children on the farm and the conducting the "Farmer for the Day Kids
Club", Bob Biggs has taught over 100-thousand children the importance
of agriculture. He will be remembered by the many children who learned what
a "dirt farmer" really does. His patience and love of educating the children was felt by many parents.
"Farmer for the Day" is becoming quite the fun kids activity. Children are learning where their vegetables come from. They spend a few hours with the farmer by learning how to irrigate, pulling weeds, picking vegetables, enjoying lunch with the farmer, visiting the farm animals and even gathering an egg from the chicken coup. Farmer Bob, Carrie Schnepfs father, started the tradition and now Carrie and her husband Mark are continuing. Please email: schfarm@earthlink.net to reserve your date. Details below.
